What do we do?
The Auxiliary sponsors four events each year to raise funds to help purchase needed equipment for our volunteer firefighters to assist the community as needed. Anyone living in the LFPD District is welcome to participate. It's a good way to meet new people, to give back to your community, and to have fun.

A Little Bit of History
Do you know where the name Lockwood originated? Lockwood Station was a stage stop near the "Y" at Shake Ridge and Fiddletown Roads. When the fire department was formed in 1980 the residents decided to use the old Lockwood name in order to keep an important piece of history. It took many determined people in the community to band together and establishes our fire department, set up a board, provide training classes for firefighters and EMTs, and raise funds. These hardworking people made it possible, and today we carry on the work they began so many years ago. Currently, we have two fire stations and 20 volunteers as of September 2010.
Station #1 is located 1-1/2 miles past Daffodil Hill on Shake Ridge Road, and Station #2 at Shake Ridge and Hale Roads. The old barn that was used as the original fire station is located on the property of Station #2. It was rented from 1990 to 1995 for $5.00 a year. The estate was later deeded to LFPD by the son of the original owner.
