What is the LFPD Auxiliary? The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization of interested citizens who wish to actively support the efforts of LFPD's firefighters and Board of Directors. We feel this is important because without these personnel, the property owners in this district would not have the fire protection and emergency medical services we need. Auxiliary Activities and Functions The Auxiliary is responsible for fundraising events, such as the annual flea market and pancake breakfast, a steak barbecue, the fire districts' annual chili cook-off, and others. The proceeds from these events are donated to help purchase or repair necessary fire equipment and to help pay the dues of our volunteers to the California Fire Fighters Association. The Auxiliary also publishes the "Smoke Signals", the district newsletter, which is mailed to all district property owners on approximately a quarterly basis. The contents of the "Smoke Signals" includes information from the board president, the chief and the Auxiliary president about important district topics and events. We assist the firefighters by providing necessary maintenance to the fire district buildings and grounds. The Auxiliary organizes social functions throughout the year which allow the volunteers and community members to get together, meet new neighbors and renew old friendships. These also give us an opportunity to acknowledge our firefighters and let them know how much we appreciate their work. Who is an Auxiliary Member? If you are a property owner or a resident of the district, you are automatically a member of the Auxiliary and we cordially invite you to attend Auxiliary meetings. Join us in our support of the firefighter volunteers, and learn how you can participate in the operation of our fire district. Meeting Dates The Auxiliary holds a meeting at 10:00 a.m. on the third Monday of each month (except December) at Station #1, 23141 Shake Ridge Road. Please attend our next meeting. Your input is very important to us.
