Special Meeting of the Board of Directors
Minutes
July 22, 2007
7:00 p.m. at Station #1

1.                    Call to Order and Reading of the Creed

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 and the Creed was read.

2.                  Establish Quorum – Roll Call

John Asmus, Andrea Jones, Jim Wagner, Chris Schneider, and Homer Forbes were present.

3.                   Closed Session Authority:  According to the California Government Code of 54957, the Lockwood Fire Protection District Board of Directors reserves the right to hold a closed session for consideration of real property negotiations, pending litigation, threats to the public buildings or public access and personnel matters.

The special meeting was called to discuss issues related to two letters published in the Amador Ledger Dispatch relating to the Lockwood District.   Although the special meeting was simply intended for fact finding discussion, it was decided by all parties to discuss it under a closed session umbrella due to the potential personnel issues involved.

4.                  Open Session:

Open session was resumed.  The only further action decided upon was that the board would introduce new policy at the next regular meeting to regulate the release of all future correspondence pertaining to the Lockwood Fire Protection District.
