Lockwood Fire was named after Lockwood Station, a bustling stage stop in the 1800's located at the junction of  Shake Ridge Rd. and Fiddletown/Shake Ridge. Rd.  Wagons coming across Kit Carson Pass stopped at Lockwood Station on their way to Sacramento.
Above is a photo of the original stage stop. The Lockwood Cemetery still exists today on private property.
10:15am, 8/7/18
Lockwood called out to fire at Shake Ridge & Soke Springs Rd.  Firefighter Randy Binz and trainee Jim Darnell assisted in quickly putting the fire out.
Thank you, guys!
